Research Summary
Professor Cordero studies natural microbial communities as complex dynamical systems with multi-scale structure. He focuses on how microscale ecological interactions at scales < 100um control the assembly and dynamics of communities, their performace, and their ability to process information and respond to abiotic change. A long term goal is to learn the principles that govern ecological dynamics in microbial systems and to apply this to environmental modeling and engineering.
