Research Summary
Research in the Sinha Laboratory focuses on two key aspects of visual cognition: Learning and Recognition. Not only are these two topics important in their own right, they are also deeply inter-related. On the one hand, learning implicitly requires the ability to recognize patterns, while on the other hand, the ability to recognize patterns has to be learned from visual experience. In investigating these two processes, we have the opportunity to address issues of importance to basic neuroscience, as well as their applications in the clinical and artificial-intelligence domains.
