Research Summary

Although his original training was in internal medicine, dermatology and clinical research, Dr. Parrish has spent the last 20 years conducting and directing basic research in photobiology, biological effects of lasers, and cutaneous biology. Dr. Parrish organized the first, and now the world's largest, multidisciplinary research group to systematically study the basic nature of laser effects on tissue, the Wellman Laboratories of Photomedicine at MGH of which he is the Director. He is also Director of the MGH-Harvard Cutaneous Biology Research Center, a research center committed to fundamental research in cutaneous biology as broadly defined.
