Ecological networks are the description of interacting populations of different species sharing the same geographical area and time, such as pollinator systems, herbivore-plant systems, predator-prey systems, etc. These species interaction networks are characterized by temporal changes and constitute the skeleton of biodiversity and natural resources.
What we do? -- Engineer quantitative tools to assess the tolerance of ecological networks to environmental change investigate which are the mechanisms that can increase these tolerance and how these mechanism change
How we do it? -- Combining computational and mathematical methods with field data following an approach based on structural stability and network science
We do it to estimate future changes in ecological networks and understand their past to find strategies to monitor and manage natural and socioeconomic ecosystems
