A question of fundamental importance in evolution is how mutations "add". Interactions between mutations lead to rugged fitness landscapes which constrain the paths accessible to evolution. Andrea is using the DRYGIN data set of the growth rate of a fair fraction of all possible double-knockouts in yeast to characterize how the strength of epistatic interactions scales with mutation effect.
