Research in the Han Lab is mainly focused on the following topics:
(*) High-performance THz circuit building blocks (harmonic oscillator, frequency doubler, low-noise detector, etc)(*0 Efficient system integration (radiator array, phase-locking loop, image sensor)(*) High-frequency nonlinear device engineering (e.g. nano amplifier using galvanomagnetic effect, Schottky diode in CMOS)
These projects combine innovations in various disciplines: RF circuits, electromagnetism, device physics, nonlinear dynamics, and micro-fabrication. The following are some examples which operate from 200GHz~900GHz. They are implemented on commercial CMOS platform, and are also extended to III-V materials (e.g. GaN) now. Meanwhile, efforts are being made to construct large-scale THz systems for ultra-high-performance data links and sensing equipment.
