Students are placed with Spanish families; they eat 2 meals a day with the family. They attend 4 classes. Subjects vary according to their MIT majors and years. Courses are co=ordinated with each department sending students. Most students take science and engineering subjects as well as SHASS subjects. Engineering courses are taken at the Polytechnic University of Madrid; Science and Arts courses are taken at the Complutense University of Madrid. Students are fully immersed in the Spanish university system; students are also fully immersed in family life in Spain through their host families.
