Areas of Interest and Expertise
Mantle Dynamics
Numerical Modeling of Solid-State Convection at High Rayleigh Numbers
Study of the Earth's Gravity Field
Core-Mantle Coupling
Space-Geodetic Observations of Surface Deformation
Dynamical Processes in the Interiors of the Terrestrial Planets

Research Summary
Professor Hager’s research interests include the relationship between space-geodetic observations of surface deformation, earthquakes, and dynamical processes in the Earth’s interior. He has expertise on tectonic earthquakes in regional fault systems, as well as deformation and earthquakes induced by reservoir production.
